Visitor Centre

Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre is sited in the same museum complex as Forge Mill National Needle Museum. One ticket gives access to both facilities. The Visitor Centre, which is set in an original reconstructed 16th Century barn, shows many of the finds that have been excavated over the years. The exhibits show what the archaeologists have discovered about the life of the Cistercians monks of Bordesley - from how they worshiped, to the clothes they wore, to the illnesses they suffered. The Visitor Centre also houses the shop where a selection of souvenir guide books for both the Abbey and the Needle Mill can be bought. There is an interactive app to unlock the secrets of Bordesley Abbey which is available on tablets which can be borrowed from the museum shop during opening hours (for a small fee). Guided tours of the site are available for pre-booked groups and on the first Thursday of each month (April to September) at 11.30am a tour is available for visitors (normal entry charge applies).
